Trying to control the left-overs-box...

Last Thursday, our "mini-crop-club of three" finally met again for an evening full of......scrapping and talking of course! I managed to make 1 (one!) x-mas card..... But that was still better than Marina, who spend the whole evening on deciding how the title on her lay-out should look like ;-))) (hihihi)
So, here is what I made.

Then, I read about a challenge that a scrap-friend put on our forum: do not buy any new scrap-stuff before January 1st 2010 or before she finished 50 lay-outs with her stash. Pfiew, that is a challenge! It inspired me to do a clean-up session myself and make some cards with my leftovers. This is what I made today:

And to finish this post, I'm showing an LO with pictures from my little girls present when she had her first birthday. I can hardly believe that in 3 weeks she will turn 2 already!

It's been quiet for some time here...

...but I'm doing fine. I'm enjoying the long warm summerdays and there is not much time left for scrapping.
Manu started his soccer-training last week. I'm not really into soccer, nor is Filip, but Manu was begging to join the club here since a year, so I finally collapsed ;-) They take it really serious and trainings are twice a week from 6.15 till 7.30 p.m.

Saturday we had a small family party for my parents in law who celebrated their birthdays.
The kids had a nice day in the little swimming pool. Look Olivia with big swimming glasses from her niece, that she put on upside down...isn't she cute?
Just before leaving on holiday, I received 2 lovely awards from 2 scrappers I really admire. The first award comes from Pruts (dankje wel hé meiske!) and the second one from An Zeelmaekers. They both make lovely scrap-projects, their blogs are worth a visit for sure!

I probably wrote already earlier something about a new challenge blog "Let's get shabby" that Mandy started last month. They have a challenge each month due the 20th. Due to packing-for-holiday and last-minute-urgent-tasks kind of things, I did not find the time to participate for the first one, but I finished yesterday evening a lay-out for the second challenge which was : gingham and flowers. On the picture is me when I was about 3 years old. I used paper from Daisy D's, a flower from Prima and lace from my grandma. The "metal" plaque with the titel was an ugly white piece of chipboard, I put copper alcohol ink on and distress stickles. Also the key is chipboard that is covered with crackle paint and stickles. The butterfly is cut from the home accents cricut cartridge and embossed with my cuttlebug.

And friday evening I finished another spread with pictures from Manu during a fall walk by the sea. It was end of October but the weather was really nice and perfect natural light for pictures. Some seconds after this pictures were taken, Manu got all wet because he went to far in the sea and a wild wave made took him out of balance.

I'm trying to finish the mini-album I started in Italy now. So, hopefully, I can show you something next weekend.

Thanks for visiting my blog! Take care!

Back in town

We are back from a lovely relaxing trip to Italy. I enjoyed being together with my kids and hubbie, the long evenings at the beach, outlet-shopping (so good for your wallet!) ,Italian ice-creams, grilled fish, pasta vongole (yummie!!!!), capucino, fresh orange juice, ......and I can go on and on and on...But now we're back and on Monday we have to go back to work (bah).
I took some basic scrapbook tools with me but I didn't do more than 3 pages of a mini album. The evenings were so long, I'd rather take a nap together with the kids after lunch than scrapping.

Here are some more pics

Dancing on the beach.

Going to the shower with dad.

Two fishes in the sea, Manu and his friend Cameron.

The good news is that we took a reservation for next year already! Jippie!
