New year 2007

Hi,

Currently, not a lot of time for being creative,... the whole week I came home around 8 or 9 PM,....pffff, very busy at work...But, only 3 weeks to go and then we are home for the holidays! I plan to do Tim Holtz's 12 tags of X-mas, I'm sure they will be gorgeous again. The first one will be posted on his blog on December 1st, I'm looking forward to this. Last week, I made some cupcakes for Manu's birthday. I'm really really a disaster in baking cookies and cakes...but I think they looked good, he?

It was so much fun, I ordered more decorating stuff online (royal icing, fondant, etc...) at the "koekjesfee". So, during the holidays I will try the cookies recepie.

I finished a simple lay-out with pictures from new year's eve 2007. The leaves and stars are covered with glimmer mist to give them a nice shine.

On december 12th, I'm participating at the "Album track day" at Tiny's Hobby in Kortrijk. I have seen the pages of the other design team members and they are looking so nice! The last page of the day will be mine, and we are gonna play with masks, stamps and glimmer mist! More information on the Scrapavanti blog (but I heard everything is booked, maybe you have more luck next time.)

We're heading for a birthday party in 30 minutes and I'm still in my pyama's (shame on me). So, time to get ready!
Have a nice Sunday!

Secret scraplift

Hi,

I finally finished a secret scraplift I had to make. It took me a week of thinking and trying, change papers, change colors,....yep, that's me I'm afraid....
So, it is a SECRET scraplift, I can't share it with you already. But I'll show a little sneakie, shhhhh, don't tell anybody ;-)

We had a very busy weekend, to be honest, I'm glad I was spending my evening in front of the television (watching "So you think you can dance", great show!).
On friday we had a very nice diner with some of Filip's colleagues in a good restaurant in Kortrijk. It is called "Oude Walle" and not suitable for tall people as the ceiling is very low. The coock is aiming his first Michelin star, and I think he deserves it to receive one next year, it was delicious! My problem was I had too much of the wine they serve with the menu, and that gave me a terrible headache all Saturday....Oh, boy, it was hard, we had to prepare the location for the family-birthday party of today. I wisely left the standing on the tables and chairs to my sisters-in-law....
Today, the kids had a fantastic birthday party, with lots of presents, a clown, nail-art, tattoo's, karaoke, cake, etc.....
Some pictures.....

And we continue with another summer lay-out....

Hi,

While the wind is blowing and the rain is is falling, I'm hiding in my scraproom, creating summer lay-outs ;-).
The next one is showing Olivia's first swimming lesson in the pool in Italy. She loved it!

This LO took me only 1 hour to create, which is probably the fastest one I ever did....Usually I'm staring for hours at my pictures, pulling out paper, other paper, and another one,..... The next hurdle are the embi's, flowers, no flowers, brads,.....pfffff, I'm soooo slow in deciding what to use. I usually use a sketch to start from, otherwise it would take another couple of hours to decide how to place the pictures...;-)

Have a nice weekend!

Remember those summer days

I'm trying to keep my promise to post more frequently from now on ;-)
I couple of weeks ago I made above lay-out that is a lift of something I saw on the Prima blog.
I just love the picture of my hubbie and Manu, the scenery looks very "exotic" but this is taken at the swimming pool in Italy. The journaling are some random things about Manu when he was 18 months old. I keep a booklet in my handbag where I write these things down to use on a lay-out. Amazing how fast you forget al those funny little stories and facts. But hey, that's why scrapping is the most fabulous hobby in the world, not?!

Have a lovely friday!

Bad bad blogger!!!

I know, I have been a very bad blogger! I have many excuses, like the flu, too busy with other things, birthdays,etc....but I feel guilty anyway ;-)
During these 2 months I didn't create a lot, but I'll show you what I have....
The first one is an old LO that I did for a secret scraplift that took ages before everybody had finished his lift. I found inspiration on Birgit Koopsen's blog for the style (lots of bright colors) The titel says "Scared? Me? Only a little bit..." and the hidden journaling tells about the meeting of our son with "dwarf Kwebbel" from television, who turned out a "little bit bigger" than he expected. ;-) The buttons are "homemade" from chipboard, covered with paper and glossy accents.

The next one is about a rainy day in Italy, where we couldn't go to the beach, but that turned out a funny day for the whole family on the playground.

The third one has a pocket where I put his first New Year letter that he learned at school. And of course the pictures while he "reads" the letter for us.

I'm feeling already the holiday season spirit and I took some old pictures from our Christmas decoration and one from our little Santa in the bathtube. These Lo's are both inspired by the latest Creating Keepsakes issue. The trees on the first one are embossed with the cuttle bug. The "star" in the second one is cut with the cricut Home Decorations cartridge, sprayed with Glimmer Mist and covered with distress stickles.

I also took some cute pictures last year of Olivia.

This is it for now! I hope to be back soon with more things to show.
